Keswick is also accessible by boat.  A mobile jetty is situated in Egremont Passage. Nearby mooring area is currently not in use due to cyclone damage. Refer to the Boating, Sailing & Kayaking section for further information.  Be aware that Keswick Island experiences significant tides, which at times can impact access to certain areas of the island. Getting to Mackay

Air travel to Mackay from any capital city in Australia has never been easier, with a number of airlines servicing the region.  Mackay is services by rail from Brisbane and Cairns, with various stops.  Frequent coach services to Mackay are available, including services from Emerald, Nebo, Moranbah and Clermont.  If you choose to self-drive to Mackay, it is approximately 11 hours drive from Brisbane and 8 hours from Cairns.  For further details of transport options to Mackay, visit the Mackay Tourism website.
